John Lewis has increased its commitment to the Games by launching official London 2012 shops in all its full line department stores and dedicating space to London 2012 merchandise in all its ‘at home’ shops.
The move builds on the retailer’s commitment to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as an official sponsor and a brand which backed the original bid.

At 9am this morning, John Lewis at home Chichester, located on the Portfield Retail Park opened its doors to customers for the first time. The 40,000 sq ft shop, which has created 140 jobs in the local area, is the first John Lewis shop to open in Sussex.

John Lewis today publishes its trading update for the five weeks to 31 December 2011. Total sales were £596m, 9.3 per cent up compared with last year. Like-for-like sales were +6.2 per cent. Compared with two years ago total sales were 19.1 per cent up whilst like-for-like sales grew by +14.4 per cent.
